Madrid Pride

Madrid hosts one of Europe’s largest pride festivals. With a massive parade through the city of Madrid, Chueca / Sol, pride attracts hundreds of thousands.

GAY PRIDE DAY JULY 3
Experience one of the most emblematic and participative Gay Pride celebrations in the world. The events programme revolves principally around one focal point: the Chueca neighbourhood. The climax of the celebrations hits with the parade held on the first Saturday after June 28.

In Madrid, it seems like the summer really sets in on International Gay Pride Day, which in 2010 will be held on July 3, when the streets in Chueca are lined with flags and garlands. Meanwhile the neighbourhood fills up with open-air bars and the main squares host live music performances. Staged over a whole week, the festivities reach their height on Saturday, with the parade in favour of LGBT rights. Each year the parade attracts a growing number of people from all over the world.
