Top Gay Family Cities: Boulder
Friday, July 2, 2010 1:09:29 PM

Boulder, Colorado
Thirty-five miles west of Denver, nestled against the Flatiron Mountains, Boulder’s picture-perfect setting sets it apart. Apart from its breathtaking scenery, Boulder is filled with culture, history, and genuine friendliness that gives the city a unique personality that makes it one of the state’s most-desired place for families to live. The outdoor lifestyle is a big part of the city, with a six mile greenway that runs through the center of the community. This allows families to enjoy walking trails on the weekend, and you can even walk to work!

Although Boulder is known to be one of the nation’s most enthusiastically outdoor recreation-focused communities, the city’s art scene is vigorous and delivers. Boulder has a rich history of attracting talented artists to the area and is well known as a home to nationally-recognized talent in visual and performing arts. Boulder is home to more than 30 art galleries, four museums and many year round festivals. The city has a dynamic economy and was named one of the “Best Places for Business and Careers,” by Forbes Magazine. Boulder has nondiscrimination city ordinances for both housing and employment. There is a very active, organized LGBT community here.
