Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item

Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:

• Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 22in x 13in x 10in (length x width x height)
• Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 40 lb

Checked Baggage Allowance:

• Fee for first bag: $15 online*/ $25 at the airport
• Fee for second bag: $25
• Fee for bags 3+: $100 each

*Discounted baggage fee if paid in advance online at spiritair.com, up to one hour before flight departure.

Excess, Overweight, Oversize Baggage Fees

• Fee for any bag weighing 51-70 lb: $50
• Fee for any bag weighing 71-99 lb: $100

Bags weighing more than 99 lb will not be accepted. If a bag is both oversize and overweight, passengers will be charged both fees.

• Fee for any bag weighing 51-100 lb: $75

Bags weighing more than 100 lb will not be accepted.

• Fee for any bag between 63-80 in: $75

Bags more than 80 inches will not be accepted.

Sports Equipment

Some checked items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee of $50 because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements while others may be checked in lieu of one of your checked bags. If you plan to travel with sporting equipment, contact Spirit Airlines directly to confirm packing regulations and fees.
